While testing out my ui edits on the PTR I was doing so mainly with an 85 druid. I had so much fun that I'm showing my druid some love again.
For those playing druid I want to see if my ideas work, or if someone has better ideas for how I could do things. There is a lot of stuff for end game, but not a lot of leveling info.
BG Leveling, I stay qued in these. When I'm at the bottom of the bracket that I'm playing in I'm planning on going resto and staying out of the main fights to just heal. Top of the bracket I've been playing as Feral cat. Prowl around and I can 2-3 shot the most people. Usually 2 shot cloth wearers. After the fights I heal everyone up and then go back to prowling around. I do this while I'm fishing usually since I've become addicted to that.
World leveling, going as feral. Cat for 1-2 mobs, bear for 3-4 mobs at once. Haven't really had much problem with this.
This is the area I'm not sure about.
Instance Leveling. I'm not sure about this because I honestly don't know how viable druids are at lower level dungeons. (60 - 80 area) I've been thinking my best bet is probably go resto and heal for these. Other option I wouldn't mind doing is queing up as tank and tank in bear form. Currently I'm sitting at 61 and just got the ramparts quests in outland. I skipped all dungeons so far on my DK, which will probably bite me in the ass but she is mainly turning into being a pvp whore anyway. But on my druid I was able to play two roles mainly on the PTR, tank and heal. It was nice being able to switch off when I got bored with one but not switch characters/classes. Just a spec change and gear change.
I've got the talents and glyphs nailed down pretty good for each style, I hate going in to dungeons though thinking I'll be good then to find out I'm missing some spells or something to really be viable yet. I've never healed as druid without healing touch, and since that was moved to higher level I just wanted to ask for any advice if anyone even remembers what they did while leveling.
I'll do my regular internet searching too, but wanted to ask some guildies these questions. I know we have some 85's and I've seen some lower levels also lately.

Feral druid rocks whatever your level is. Tanking as a druid is really simple, for single target you want to mangle on cooldown, have your faerie fire debuff, stack 3 lacerate, keep your pulverize buff on and demo roar if needed. use maul to burn off excess rage.
for aoe use swipe on cooldown and do pretty much the same thing while tab targetting mobs. glyph of maul makes you hit another target which is also nice. once you hit 69 you get berserk talent which makes your mangle not trigger a cd and hit 3 targets which is kinda cool for aoe. for leveling as feral cat form is the way to go, i never found going into bear form and doing aoe better. just pop your survivability cd (survival instinct and barkskin) and hit them single target. for a single mob you can easily prowl>charge>pounce>ravage (with stampede talent)>mangle...... till target is dead. if you are in a dungeon or with a mob that is going to live a little longer then put up your rake on target, mangle for combo points (or shred if you can stay behind) then put up rip. 2 tics of rip bleed is usually more dps than 1 ferocious bite. Boss rotation: keep faerie fire up keep mangle debuff up keep rake up keep rip up keep savage roar up (once you learn the spell) shred for combo points. try and use tiger's fury on cooldown and its even better if you try and refresh your rake with TF up for the 15% dmg bonus thats gonna be applied on the bleed. Stats priority : agi>mastery (once you hit 80)>crit>haste. take note that str also give you AP. so a str weapon is also good for a feral druid while not being the best because agi gives ap and crit. heres my armory link for feral cat and tanking spec: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/korgath/frostsbite/simple So thats pretty much what i could tell you for the "basics" of a feral druid but what do i know about them, i suck at druid |
