I. Talents / Glyphs
II. Enchants / Gemming
III. Professions / Consumables
IV. Rotation / Cooldowns

Some quick references before starting :
Best stats for an enh shaman : Hit (before the spell hit cap of 13% for alliance, 14% horde) > Expertise (before the 140cap)) > Haste or AP > Crit > Agi.

Wondering where armor penetration is? Nowhere. . Intellect and Spellpower are both better than armor penetration. That's how bad it is.

Haste and AP both have about the same value. If you stack haste, youll see better maelstrom weapon procs obviously. AP will make evrything hit harder though. So its whatever you prefer.
I stack AP.

I. Talents / Glyphs
Wowhead Talent Calculator
This spec is the current best dps spec. It takes points off mana-regeneration talent (1 point from improved stormstrike) and lowest dps talents (2 points from improved shields). Those points will let you acquire Clearcasting from elemental tree and Improved Fire Nova.

The mandatory glyph is the Stormstrike glyph. Other 2 glyphs should be chosen between Glyph of Feral Spirit, flame shock, windfury, lightning shield. I personnaly use Feral Spirit and Windfury.

II. Enchants / Gemming
Enchants should always aim for Attack Power, not agility. Agility, despite its attack power and crit contribution, is a bad stat choice to stack.
Best cloak enchant is Haste.
Gloves enchants are abundant, either AP, hit or Expertise is good. Of course if youre not hit capped / exp capped get this asap.
Gem for AP or Haste, whichever you chose to stack.
RED : Bright Cardinal Ruby or Stark Ametrine
YELLOW : Stark Ametrine or Quick King's Amber
BLUE : Bright Cardinal Ruby or Quick King's Amber. also have 1x Nightmare Tear for below purposes.

Meta gem : Chaotic Skyflare or Relentless earthsiege are good choices. Relentless is easier to get the Meta requirements by having a Nightmare Tear in a blue socket.

Weapon enchants : Berserking is the best enchant available. Though if you're stacking Haste you might want to enchant your offhand with Black Magic.

III. Professions / Consumables
Flaks of endless rage is the best consumable for a raid. Obviously

any profession can be a good profession to raid. Nevertheless, gathering professions tend to be less of a benefit than actual crafting professions.
Notable professions for enhancement shamans :
Engineering provides a haste buff for hands. Can be great.
Combining Jewelcrafting / Blacksmithing can be a good synergy for extra sockets and improved gems.

IV. Rotations / Cooldowns
Enhancement shamns dont use rotations but rather Priority lists. Whatever's higher on the priority list is up, you hit it. If its on cooldown, you go to the next highest spell available.

1. Instant Lightning bolt
2. Stormstrike
3. Magma totem if there is less than 5 seconds left on it.
4. Flame Shock if its due to be refreshed
5. Earth Shock
6. Lava Lash if you have the idol granting 400 AP from lava lash swings.
7. Fire Nova
8. Lava Lash with any other idol.
9. Refreshing Lightning Shield

I know this can be consufing. Enhancement shamans are an overcomplicated class. I actually simplified the priority list a bit. And this is for single dps. Obviously for multi target dps, you wanna hit chain lightning and fire nova every time its ready. Magma totem of course.

One VITAL addon for easying your dps is called Shock and Awe. It'll show you a frame with the next highest priority to hit. Of course this isnt something you just watch and hit whatever image shows up. Circumstances make the rotation deviate sometime. You must play with your head.

Cooldowns available to an enhancement shaman:
Feral Spirit : our 51-point talent is amazing damage, its considered a pet like a hunter pet for 45 sec. Best time to cast it : Right before heroism. If you have time to cast it twice before heroism, cast it right before starting the fight, as you cast your totems.

Shamanistic Rage : our 41 point talent renegenrates over 1k mana per proc with ICC gear level.
With your 2 piece t10 You'll want to cast it every 1 minute. It increases your damage significantly.
You should be casting it quite often already, as the new spec is considerign you cast it on cooldown for your mana to be sustained.

Fire elemental totem : It stays alive for 2 whole minutes, best moment to cast it is : whenever. I cast it at the start of the fight, in case something happens to me and i lose the cooldown, or just because im lazy and i dont wana think about refreshing magma totem.

Additions :
Tricky part about being a shaman is totem. in moving fights (e.g. where boss is being kited) you'll have to recast magma totem all the time, which is very mana-consuming. Also you'll cry your face out when you cast fire elemental totem and then you have to move. The fire elemental moves with you, but the totem stays over there, making Fire nova useless. You'll have to sacrifice your fire elemental when that happens.

I think the trickiest part is the magma totem. When i was starting i kept forgetting it. If that happens to you and you dont wanna get enraged on an offspec rotation, the best thing to do would be to drop Searing totem instead. You'll only have to think about it every 1minute or so.

TWO HANDERS: They suck. Yes, high end damage + lucky windfury procs will make you see big numbers once in a while. But you'll stack Maelstrom weapon slower, will not be able to use Lava Lash, will have a lower uptime of Elemental Devastation and Unleashed Rage, as well as lower damage from Static Shock.
If you wanna walk around ironforge with Bryntroll though, go for it. I'll pay you to ninja it from a warrior or a DK =)

TANKING : Shamans can wear a shield. Does that mean they can tank? Theorically, yes. They were supposed to be a tank class back in Vanilla wow, but they never went through with the idea. Get full resilience set, 5% crit reduction, stack Dodge, Block and Armor and spam Frost shock. Bring tons of rogues and hunters for Misdirects and tricks. Film it and post it cause im DYING to get a tanking set and do that. lol You will not be able to parry though cause taking the Parry talent from enhancement tree will make you generate 30% less threat.

any questions post here, or hit me up ingame.

Awesome. If I was to start leveling a shaman, what pieces of heirloom gear would be best?

Leatherworking is a great prof for us too. Fur lining and better (and cheaper) leg enchants are great

idk if you were serious but i leveled with leather heirloom all the way till 75ish. I used the big 2h mace because the venerable macgowen maces werent out yet when i leveled. But right now i'd suggest taking 2of those instead of the big 2 hander.

reminds me of 2hander viability i wanted to talk about or shaman tanking.

I guess a better question should have been if there were any viable pieces of heirloom gear to use in leveling a shaman.

And yes, I was serious. I'm trying to become more well rounded with the classes in game.
