As a resto druid, I like to just watch Athris' health bar drop to zero and then start healing. We all know any good fights do not end without his death. Five seconds later I die after doing a total of 7 healing done. Malf at that point has 3.5 million just to give some perspective

I hate you all. I have seemingly been cut from the resto Druid healing roster....
However, just to spite Tor; I will put in my input. Situation one- General purpose healing This is where there aren't mechanics that need to be taken into account and little to no out lying damage being taken by the raid. Tank healing - 1st - Regrowth I like to start with this for three reasons: One, it has an initial heal that can generally top off a tank from the first hit of the average boss. Two, it has the longest HoT attached to it so it will generally last through the rest of my HoTs and they will all fall off just as I get back to applying them. Three, with talent points into Living Seed, it places a stored heal on the tank to instantly heal, at least, a portion of the damage taken. 2nd - Rejuvenation It is the second longest HoT and come with a nice heal every three seconds. With spec, each tick has a chance to give rage, runic power, energy or mana. I am pretty sure if it matters if any healing is actually done for the effect to proc. 3rd - Lifebloom Stacked to three. I try to keep this rolling constantly on a tank if they are taking the damage were it calls for it. With a tick per second and healing at over 1k per tick. I think it is extraordinary. Raid healing - I do not have a set rotation for this. I simply go by situation with some bias towards the different classes. For most classes I use Lifebloom. It gets the job done and gives me some mana back. For warlocks, I generally try to use Rejuvenation. I do this for two reasons, unless the warlock is taking visible damage, I assume the warlock is Life Tapping. The Rejuvenation gives them a chance to get mana and a chance to Life Tap again within the 15 or so seconds it lasts. Preemptive healing in other words. I do not confine myself to these basics, but this is what I generally use. Situation two - Oh Shit time This occurs either when a dps has pulled a mob and is taking considerable amounts of damage or when a tank is receiving a face beating of massive proportions. Option 1 - Rejuvenation + Swiftmend combo This gives the target being healed a HoT and a massive heal from 8k non-crit to 13+k crit in the time it takes for one global cooldown to pass. This combo could be followed immediately by a Regrowth for another heal and HoT (plus a heal on hit buff if Regrowth crits) and/or by a spamming of Nourish. Option 2 - Nature's Swiftness + Healing Touch This offers a large heal with a chance to get a Living Seed buff. Good to get a target healed up fast. This can often times be followed up by an array of other heals. Option 3 - Nourish spamming This is probably my least favorite of the options because it can be mana inefficient and you are having to deal with cast times for several small but rapid heals. Option 4 - Tranquility You have to be very aware of when you use this ability. It can be a make or break spell at times, but you must choose carefully when you use it. The reason for being cautious is because this spell only heals the group that you are currently in. So one of three parameters needs to be met: you have assigned groups and your current group is the one you are responsible for; you trust your fellow healers to be able to see what is happening and make up for your healing loss on the other groups; or, if the group you are in dies then the rest of the raid is going to wipe (this is generally when you are in a group with either the healers or with the tanks) Additional Note: I didn't mention Wild Growth in this post until now. The reasoning behind it is because of its status of being a smart spell. In a sense, the spell has 5 charges (or 6 with the glyph) per cast. Meaning that if you cast the spell on a particular target doesn't mean that they will receive it. The "charges" are given to the 5 (or 6) targets within a set radius, of the target the spell was casted on, that have the lowest percentage of health (including pets). Saying that, this spell is an awesome spell to use with when raid healing or throwing another HoT onto the tank [if he is one of the 5 (or 6)] to receive it. It does great raid healing and has a chance to proc a return or mana, rage, energy, or runic power; if talented for it.

As a resto druid your most useful spells are hots. Every other class uses direct heals, and because of this there are certain requirements that must be fulfilled by the reso druids of the raid.
First and foremost pre-hot'ing the tank. Before every pull make it a point to get all of your hots on the tank. (regrowth, rejuvenation, and 3 stacks of lifebloom) this allows the other healers in the raid to get situated while your hots keep the tank up. I like to blow swiftmend right off the bat. - after the tank takes his first massive hit-. This buys the paladins and disc. priests a few more seconds to get in place. MAIN TANK HEALING : The main tank should always have regrowth and rejuv on him. If you ever find down time while raid healing, nourish the tank if it looks like it is needed. Try to prioritize who has the highest chances of dying if you don't heal them. - "The raid's at 50% hp, but the next time they will take damage is 15 seconds from now.... and the tanks getting roflstomped atm!" /nourish tank /Wildgrowth raid. OFF TANK HEALING: Each off tank should have regrowth and rejuvenation on him before they start taking damage. -IE adds are spawning in 3 seconds so I pre-hot the off tanks. BASICS OF RAID HEALING : rejuvenation vs. lifebloom : For raid healing rejuvenation is your best friend, not lifeebloom. What takes lifebloom 2 global cooldowns takes rejuvenation 1 global cooldown. WILDGROWTH MECHANICS : Wildgrowth is a smart heal. Meaning it will be cast on the 5 (6 - if glyphed towards it) lowest people, hp wise, in a certain distance from your target. - This ability hits athris often. - It will not necessarily hit the target you "click" on. Wildgrowth should not be cast until raid damage occurs. Due to its healing amount decreasing over time. When to use rejuvenation and when to use nourish : One thing you must realize is that rejuvenation takes 3 seconds to tick after it is cast (2 seconds if you're glyphed with Rapid Rejuvenation). So if a raid member takes 30% or more of their hp in damage heal them with nourish, not rejuvenation nor lifebloom. If 3 or more people take 30% or more hp in damage it calls for wild growth and nourish. When players are taking consecutive damage, rejuvenate them. Purpose of a druid : As a druid your main priority should be on the tanks, while support raid healing. - IE abilities like wildgrowth. 1 global cooldown to heal 5 (6) people at a time.- But during bosses like twin valks you become an all out raid healer. Keeping only rejuvenation on the tanks. You then keep rejuvenation on every raid member possible. Wild growth should always be on cooldown during these types of fights. - Hodir during frozen blows, mimiron's phase 2, valks, phase 3 of anub' arak. - and rejuvenation should be out on 10-16 people. Rejuvenation + swiftmend : This combo allows you to heal an individual for 20-30k (If Geared) in 1 second. Since swiftmend has a fairly long cooldown make sure to save it for an important situation. - I keep mine saved for athris 50% of the time, 30% of the time for morgi, and 20% of the time for the rest of the raid. Swiftmend is a powerful insta-cast tank/raid healing spell. USE IT! Though swiftmend has a semi-long cooldown, you should view it as an "OH crap!" moment preventer, not as an "OH crap!" moment button. Nature's swiftness : As prazer has pointed out setting up a macro for nature's swiftness + Healing touch is a very nice tool. I tend to normally use nature's swiftness on dps and healers. - Considering all healers should already be focusing on the tank I shouldn't need to use it on him. Rebirth : "Brez" should be saved until the raid leader calls for it. If you notice someone vital isdead, mention it, and if the raid leader says nothing back save your brez. ADDONS : Vuhdo - This is an amazing "healbot" like addon that helps TREMENDOUSLY. Allowing you to simply click a player in order to cast a spell on them. - It is very customizable and the best "healbot" type addon I have found. Sexymap - ZOMG WHERE IS ATHRIS I NEED TO BREZ HIM. This addon will allow you to move your map in an easy to see point on your screen. Allowing you to easily spot people you need to brez or get closer to them in order to heal them. Vuhdo - getitliveitlikeit Vuhdo - one more time =D GLYPHS : Glyphs I use are marked with a * *Glyph of swiftmend - Not having this is similar to a warlock not having glyph of conflag... it just doesn't work Glyph of nourish - Allows much better tank healing - *Glyph of wildgrowth - Very important for raid healing Glyph of rejuvenation - Not so great. It only procs if the person is under 50%. - How often are people under 50% hp? Rejuvenation also takes 3 seconds to tick after it is applied. - How often are people not healed to full after 3 seconds, much less above 50% after 3 seconds? Glyph of innervate - If you are constantly hurting for mana... I would say grab a mana pot or melee the boss mid-fight while a paladin judges wisdom before buying this glyph. *Glyph of rapid rejuvenation - Reduces the time in between ticks, but lowers the duration of rejuvenation accordingly.

Lets, not muddle this thread with your useless addons that battle rez anyone dps in the middle of a fight (when you didn't mean to, that is).
