The Naked Fear

Since we are only two hard-modes away from completing the quest to unlock Algalon, it might be time for people who have aspirations to beat the most difficult (in terms of accessibility and execution) encounter in the game right now to start studying.

Algalon is only available for one hour per week of attempts. The timer cannot be stopped after it has been started. One hour, straight through. Every single guild wanting to kill this guy needs every member of the raid that attempts him to research him outside of that one hour per week. The first few guilds that killed Algalon did so by pooling together their frapses and combat logs with other guilds of the same caliber, and picking them apart with a fine-toothed comb during the lockout downtime.

Fortunately, several weeks later, we have WoWWiki, ElitistJerks, and videos showing the way it's done. There is no easy-mode on this encounter. Hard boss is hard, for reals.
