The changes in 3.1 have made Shadow an absolutely viable raid dps and pvp spec. In 500+ be.imba score gear level
VT crits for 4.4k
DP crits for 3k
SWP crits for 2.5 raid buffed
DP's initial hit is about 1-1.5K, critting for double that respectively
Shadowfiend holds down about 1k dps raid buffed and returns an absolutely bonkers amount of mana.
Hymnn of Hope (if you can garuntee yourself get the ticks) will restore about 30% mana.....
It's a good patch to be a priest.
Avis - how do you like the changes to holy / disc?
Preach - is shadow leveling any easier?

I'm not sure if leveling shadow has been easier because leveling in northrend is very different than vanilla and TBC. I will say leveling has been much faster and I've not had to stop and mana up as much. I also didn't suffer as many mob deaths.
Ganking is still prevalent and its still predominantly paladins and rogues who have multiple stuns and target cloth wearers. |

I still like holy, it has some nice mechanics now, if you cast flash heal three times you get a greater heal or prayer of healing hasted 12%. Between that and circle of healing getting upped there is a lot of ae healing ability.
But as nice as holy is, I really like discipline now. Power Word Shield doesnt have a cooldown, absorbs just over 6k damage, returns mana to the target and yourself, and gives a raidwide buff that reduces damage taken by 3% when used. Coupled with Penance, grace, and imp flash heal Disc can do some major damage mitigation and single target healing.
